One benefit of the Indian Kathak Dance class we've been taking is that I've learnt to count to 5 in Hindi - ek, do, teen, char, panch (I don't know how they're properly spelt - but in any case Hindi's not even written in Latin letters so it doesn't matter so much).
Yeah, that makes sense. :) It's not like the transliterations used with Chinese, which... AREN'T phonetic in a lot of languages that use Latin letters.
